Two special chairs! The Plia folding chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti in the 1960s. The chair was, and is, produced by Castelli. The chair was first presented in Milan during the Fiera del Mobile. The chair was so popular there that it was literally chained up because people simply walked away with it. Piretti's design was seen as a revolution of the 'folding chair' concept.
The Plia folding chairs for sale here are rarer examples. These have webbing seats and backrests, a version that is not often encountered. These are chairs that have been in use for approximately 40 years.
Due to its age, there are some minor signs of wear. The webbing seats and backrests are still in very nice condition. The frame has light signs of wear here and there. All in all a special set of chairs!
