WH Gispen designed the 407 chair in 1933. Production of the chair was stopped in 1975. In the 1990s, the Dutch Originals company started with a replica of the 407 chair
These chairs were made between 1975 and 1990 by an unknown manufacturer.
The chairs have been completely restored. The seat springs have been expanded from three to five. The seat has new fiberfill. The seat is excellent again. The fabric is deep dark purple. It looks black but is lively because of this color. The fabric is wool with a cotton backing. The frame has been re-polished. The armrests have new original Gispen bakelite armrests. We think our restoration was very successful. These chairs last a very long time and retain their value.There are very minor signs of wear on the frame.
