Have it delivered hassle-free

Why do we ask for your date and country of birth?

At Whoppah, sellers receive their payments via our payment partner, Stripe. As part of their legal obligations (like anti-money laundering laws), Stripe needs to verify the identity of sellers before sending payouts.
This may include:
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Country of birth
  • (And in some cases) a copy of your ID
To speed up this verification process, we give you the option to pre-fill this information in your account. This helps avoid delays once you sell an item and request payout.

EU Tax Reporting (DAC7)
In addition to payment verification, we are also required to comply with the DAC7 EU directive on platform tax transparency. This law requires us to report specific seller information to tax authorities when certain thresholds are met — for example, if you sell more than 30 items or generate more than €30,000 in sales per year.
In those cases, we must report:
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Country and place of birth
  • Address
  • Tax identification number (if applicable)
By collecting these details up front, we ensure that your account is compliant and avoid issues with delayed or incomplete tax reporting later.
:closed_lock_with_key: Your privacy is our priority
:warning: We only ask for this information to fulfill legal obligations through Stripe and to comply with DAC7 tax regulations. It is never used for marketing or profiling, and we handle your data with the highest level of security and care, in full compliance with GDPR.

We only ask this information to fulfill Stripe's legal obligations. It will never be used for other purposes, and we treat your data with the highest level of security and care.
