The tote is the bag that does the actual work: laptop, book, gym kit, the lot. Two modern classics define the secondhand market here: the Louis Vuitton Neverfull, introduced in 2007 and named without irony, and the Céline Luggage of 2010, whose face-like front made it instantly recognisable. Leather quality matters more in a tote than anywhere else, because totes get used hard.
