Offered: A large, uniform lot of 15 vintage mid-century modern design chairs from the 1960s. These original chairs come from the renowned Kunstwerkstede De Coene (1960 period) and have never left the company. De Coene was one of the most important names in Belgian design history. This is a functional and solid design from De Coene's own internal design studio, originally manufactured for the business project market. The chairs have beige skai leather upholstery, a wooden base with brass leg sleeves, and are finished with decorative metal studs on the back. The entire lot has been neatly cleaned. The upholstery is generally in a remarkably neat, hardly used condition. The lot consists of a readily usable basic set and a number of project chairs: 8 design chairs in good, immediately usable condition: These include the 2 rarer models with wooden armrests and 6 matching chairs without armrests. The wooden construction and upholstery are in order for these 8 pieces. 7 project chairs (without armrests): For these 7 chairs, the wooden legs are torn at the bottom. These were functionally repaired at the time with screws and glue but require professional attention from a furniture maker. Due to the excellent condition of the original 1960s skai leather, the brass sleeves, and the studs, these pieces are also excellent to use as high-quality parts donors. (Note: 1 chair has a superficial paint stain, 1 chair has a small incision in the skai on the back). See the last photos. The lot is sold exclusively as a whole. A unique set for a hospitality project, exclusive meeting room, or a large vintage dining room. Collection by arrangement.
