Product description
Iconic Servomuto side table by Zanotta, designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1974. The round tabletop is orange on one side and grey on the other, and the stem has a handle at the top. Slight signs of use are visible on the base and the top.
Servomuto is Italian for 'silent servant', and that's how it works. With the long rod and knob, you lift it with one hand and place it where you need it: next to the sofa, by your reading chair, or next to the bed.
The table belongs to the Servi series by brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. That family started in 1961 with an ashtray and an umbrella stand for the Milanese restaurant Splügen Bräu. The Servomuto was the first piece from the series to go into production.
Original Zanotta, with label (mod. 36)
Round top of orange laminate, black steel rod, black plastic base
Ø 50 cm, top at 50 cm height, total height 86 cm
The table pairs beautifully with the orange leather Tok armchair with ottoman.
Purchased in 2021 via Whoppah. Signs of use: minimal.
