This iconic table lamp / wall lamp was designed in 1975 by Yamada Shomei. The design, named "Manon," is inspired by the shapes of Japanese origami.
The lamp features an automatic switch on the inside. Therefore, the lamp turns off when folded. It can be used both freestanding and wall-mounted. The lamp is in working condition. Cable length approx. 175 cm. E14 socket.
This folding table lamp was first produced in the 1970s by Yamada Shomei Lighting Co. Ltd, a Japanese company that still exists. This lamp was also sold by various companies worldwide, including: Tronconi – Italy, Vrieland Design – Netherlands, Happylight – Netherlands, Massive – Belgium, Fischer Leuchten – Germany, Näve Leuchten – Germany, Brilliant Leuchten – Germany, Fase – Italy, E/Lite Products, and probably a few others. This particular example was manufactured by Brilliant. In good, working vintage condition, with normal signs of use.
