ABOUT THIS DESIGN
The Willemse Verlichting sculptural acrylic pendant lamp is a special and architectural lighting object from the 1970s, strongly inspired by the iconic 'string art' designs of Paul Secon for Sompex. The lamp is constructed from a geometric spherical structure of transparent acrylic slats that are strung with a refined network of threads. This creates a layered, three-dimensional diamond pattern around the central light source from every angle.
As soon as the lamp is lit, the Willemse Verlichting sculptural acrylic pendant lamp atmospherically transports the light through the thread and acrylic elements, creating a sparkling and unique light refraction. With its airy silhouette and spatial presence, this rare piece of Space Age / Dutch Design forms an impressive statement piece above a dining table, in a grand hall, or a contemporary living interior.
