Hand-carved West African wooden mask, featuring a characteristic sculpted bird crown. The mask depicts a stylized human face with almond-shaped eyes and geometric hair patterns, finished with earth pigments in red, black, and blue.
This type of mask is inspired by traditional mask-making cultures from West Africa (including Ivory Coast/Guinea, Senufo region) and was made in the second half of the 20th century (1960-1985). It is an authentic handmade object, intended for decorative use and for collectors of African art and tribal design.
The mask is in good vintage condition, with normal wear and patina commensurate with its age and material. It has no breaks or instability. The bird is securely mounted.
