Product description
This is the iconic stick cabinet, designed by Willem Lutjens for Gouda den Boer in the 1950s. The piece of furniture is a classic example of Dutch Design and stands out due to its airy, open structure and the use of curved wooden shelves in combination with round uprights. The cabinet is made of wood with a light, warm finish and consists of four levels with, uncommonly, different shelf widths. The design is characteristic of the post-war period when functionality and simplicity were central.
The furniture is in good condition, with a few spots (pics 8,9,10) but definitely less visible with some polishing. This stick cabinet functions excellently as a room divider or Bookcases in a modern, Scandinavian or Mid-Century interior. The open design ensures that the space remains light and spacious, while simultaneously being a functional and aesthetic addition to the living room or study.
