An absolute eye-catcher for lovers of vintage design, mid-century, and 1970s interiors: this original XL design rug “Grafik 4040” is a rare piece with a fantastic appearance.
This rug features the original factory label, including design number, signature by designer S. Doege, and the marking Made in W. Germany — beautiful proof of authenticity and provenance. Pros
✔ Original vintage design piece from West Germany
✔ Model: Grafik 4040
✔ Designed by S. Doege (signed on label)
✔ Original label still present
✔ Large, luxurious size: 350 x 250 cm
✔ Thick, full pile of high quality
✔ Truly in exceptionally beautiful condition
✔ No wear, bald spots, or discoloration
✔ Very decorative and atmospheric color palette
The colors are beautifully warm and typical of the 70s:
chocolate brown, caramel, ochre yellow, honey, camel, and cream. As a result, the rug combines effortlessly with:
Scandinavian interiors
Mid-century furniture
Modern minimalist living rooms
Wabi-sabi / organic styling
The graphic interplay of lines creates an almost landscape-like effect and provides great depth and character.
