A rare vintage bedside or table lamp by the Bulgarian manufacturer AZ Iskra in Plovdiv, characteristic of the Space Age era. The piece is a classic example of the 'mushroom' design, an iconic silhouette from the 70s and 80s. The lamp is made from a combination of metal and chrome. The shade is finished in a striking red lacquer, while the cylindrical base has a polished chrome finish. With a height of approximately 22 centimeters and a shade diameter of 16 centimeters, the lamp has a compact size. This model was produced in Bulgaria and was popular in the 70s and 80s. The design was anonymously created by an internal team of factory designers and engineers at AZ Iskra, which gives it a unique status within design history. The lamp is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age and use. The original finish has been preserved and contributes to the authentic character of the object. The wiring and fitting are original. The lamp opens easily to access the fitting.
