A vintage floor light by the Dutch manufacturer Herda, a characteristic design from the Space Age era. This piece embodies the aesthetics of the 70s with its functional yet playful design. The lamp is defined by its two independently adjustable 'mushroom' shades, which provide both direct and atmospheric light. The construction consists of a chromed metal stand on a heavy, dark brown lacquered metal base that provides stability. The two lamp shades, made of lacquered metal in yellow and off-white, can be adjusted in height along the stand and tilted. This allows the light to be directed as desired, for example as a reading lamp next to an armchair or for illuminating an object. The lamp is equipped with the original wiring and a floor switch. The lights can also be switched on and off independently using the foot switch. This lighting object is in very good vintage condition, with a character appropriate for its age. The electrical components are functional and the overall structure is solid. For authenticity, the original plug is still present. To use the lamp with new sockets, it needs to be replaced. The original finish of the shades and the chrome stand has been well preserved, contributing to the authentic appearance of the lamp. This Herda floor light is a versatile addition to various interior styles, from distinctly retro and Space Age to an eclectic or modern decor. It functions excellently as an atmospheric and practical lighting element in a living room, study, or reading nook.
