A beautiful and iconic mid-century design classic from the renowned German glass manufacturer Peill & Putzler. This model is known as the "Ice Cube" or "Lichtkugel" (model shape 71055) and dates from the 1960s/1970s. The lamp is made of very heavy, solid crystal glass with characteristic round, concave indentations on the sides. This unique shape refracts the light in a fabulous way, creating a beautiful organic light pattern on the walls and ceiling once the lamp is lit. This particular piece stands on a high-quality, gold-colored brass base and is equipped with a convenient white push switch. The fixture is designed so that it can be used as an atmospheric table lamp, but can also be mounted directly on the wall or ceiling as a design sconce.
