Special vintage Murano glass aquarium from the mid-20th century. This beautiful sculptural object is made of heavy, clear glass and has a strikingly slightly curved, organic profile with a characteristic lobed/wavy top edge. Three beautifully modeled, colorful fish are incorporated into the glass, surrounded by green aquatic plants and numerous small air inclusions. Upon closer inspection, small silver foil inclusions are visible in the fish. The fins are finely executed with a striped/latticino-like effect. The combination of the very shallow depth of only 3.6 cm, the curved shape, the lobed edge, the three fish, and the silver foil details makes this a special example within the Murano aquarium tradition. The object shows clear similarities with aquarium objects attributed to Alfredo Barbini for Cenedese, Murano. Since this piece has no visible signature or original Cenedese label, the attribution is mentioned as an attribution/possible origin.
