Rare "Mercurio" armchair by French artist, designer and sculptor Claude Courtecuisse. The armchair is made of white acrylic methacrylate and was produced by the Italian artisan workshop "cataneo" for the French company "Steiner" in 1967.
The "Mecurio" armchairs were exhibited at the prestigious "Espaces et Lumières - salon des artistes décoratifs" exhibition in Paris in 1969. Courtecuisse was a French designer, sculptor and artist. Works by Courtecuisse can be found in the collections of the Centre Pomipidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, as well as in the large FRAC collection in Calais .
Fair condition. Shell and cushion in good condition (no cracks to report). However, discoloration, traces of use and drips on the shell are to be noted (see photos, plan to clean the shell).
