Product description
This vintage coffee table is an iconic design by the Dutch designer Louis van Teeffelen, produced in the 1960s. The piece illustrates the transition to organic forms within post-war furniture design and stands out due to its characteristic, sculptural wood joints, where the legs elegantly protrude through the corners of the tabletop. The table is crafted from warm wood, combined with a refined reading section of woven rattan beneath the main tabletop. This floating lower shelf not only offers practical storage space for books and magazines but also lends the design an airy and transparent character. The dimensions are 75 centimeters in width and depth, with a height of 46 centimeters. The rich brown hue of the wood accentuates the natural grain and the authentic appearance of this Mid-Century Modern piece of furniture. The furniture is in good, functional condition with a characterful patina that reflects the history of the piece. The original finish has been preserved, contributing to the authentic charm of this collector's item. The rattan weave is structurally intact and provides a sturdy base for daily use. This coffee table forms a strong centerpiece in a contemporary or sixties-inspired seating area. The warm wood and natural materials harmonize effortlessly with both minimalist and eclectic interiors, and combine perfectly with other Dutch Design classics.
