Kokeshi craft is an ancient Japanese tradition.
It started around 1800 as a simple doll for every child. Every province in Japen has its own shape and/or painting.
These hand-turned traditional Kokeshi date from around 1960-1970 and are signed at the bottom by the maker. In excellent condition considering their age.
Dimensions are from large to small;
- 37cm
- 30cm
- 24.5cm
All dolls bear the signature of their maker, two of them on the bottom and the other on the back. If you have any questions you can always send me a message.
Considering its age in very nice condition, of course the paint and wood has discolored a bit over the years. Which in my opinion only gives extra charm. There are also some superficial scratches here and there, however this does not detract from the look of this Kokeshi.
