Product description
A vintage armchair by the Dutch manufacturer ROHE Noordwolde, produced in the 1960s. This piece is a representative example of the popular rattan furniture from that period, known for its light and organic appearance. The design skillfully combines natural materials with a minimalist base, resulting in a timeless silhouette.
The seat of the chair is entirely hand-woven from rattan, finished with a glossy lacquer layer that accentuates the warm, honey-brown color of the material. The shell-shaped seat rests on a contrasting base of black lacquered metal, which is equipped with white protective caps on the legs. This combination of materials was characteristic of Dutch Design from the mid-20th century.
The chair is in very good vintage condition, retaining its original finish and construction. The rattan is intact and the structure is sturdy, testifying to the quality and craftsmanship of ROHE Noordwolde. The natural patina of the rattan contributes to the authentic character of the furniture piece.
Thanks to its airy design and compact size, this armchair is versatile. It is a characterful addition to a living room, bedroom, or conservatory and fits perfectly within a Bohemian, Scandinavian, or Mid-Century Modern interior.
The black frame shows some bare spots here and there, so it might need a fresh coat of paint, but it's not strictly necessary :)
