Retro wall lamp by the Dutch manufacturer Herda, presumably from the 1970s. During this period, Herda released several variants based on the same modular construction principle. The white plastic wall bracket and the attachment of the plexiglass plates remained the same, while variations were made in shapes, colors, and the layering of the plexiglass. Thus, a different design was created each time using the same base.
No specific designer is known for this lamp. The model was likely developed by Herda's internal design department.
The lamp is made of smoky brown and amber-colored plexiglass, a material that was frequently used in lighting designs in the 1960s and 70s. The warm tones perfectly complemented the interiors popular at the time, featuring brown furniture, chrome, dark wood, and earth tones. The mirror-head lamp shields the bright light source and reflects the light backward, causing the plexiglass and the backplate to glow warmly.
Despite its age, the lamp is still in very good condition. The plexiglass shows a few very light scratches here and there, but these are barely visible.
