This beautiful handmade raku bowl features an otherworldly palette of colours and an exceptionally tactile surface. The organic, rounded form is enhanced by dramatic crackling, crazing and veining, with a richly textured, rough-edged rim that highlights the raw beauty of the raku firing process.
The interior showcases a smoky light blue glaze with striking black veining, creating a depth reminiscent of natural stone or branching forms. The exterior displays a subtle yet complex blend of muted tones including blue, green, soft yellow, blush pink, rose-gold metallic highlights and characteristic black spotting typical of raku ceramics. The surface catches the light beautifully, revealing shimmering metallic accents and layered glaze effects from different angles.
Each detail of this piece is the result of chance and fire, making it a one-of-a-kind work. The cracks, crazing and uneven edges are intentional and integral to the raku technique, contributing to its sculptural, wabi-sabi aesthetic.
