Vintage Guy Degrenne stainless steel ice bucket, made in France in the 1970s-1980s. Its clean and elegant line features a slightly flared cylindrical body, punctuated by fine horizontal bands. A wide, movable stainless steel handle, attached by two lateral fastenings with rounded buttons, completes this refined design. The underside bears the Guy Degrenne, Made in France cartouche. This signature links the piece to one of the great French tableware houses of the second half of the 20th century. Born into a family of Norman blacksmiths, Guy Degrenne founded his company in 1948. He chose stainless steel to revitalize French cutlery and table accessories in the post-war momentum. The company developed in Sourdeval, then in Vire, in Normandy. Stainless steel quickly became one of its hallmarks, appreciated for its modern appearance, durability, and lasting shine. This bucket is fully representative of that production. Its decoration, reduced to a few concentric lines, gives full prominence to the polished metal and reflects the functional aesthetic of the 1970s. Light reflects sharply on its walls, while the handle traces a soft curve around the body. Some scratches and signs of use remain visible, consistent with the age of the piece.
