Product description
Wooden floor lamp with a 6-arm structure and a decorative axis composed of a series of original spherical and volumetric shapes. The lamp follows the typical design of the lantern and was manufactured in the 1950s or 1960s. It is entirely painted in a dark red or scarlet tone. The application of the paint was done in a very artisanal way, leaving the textures of the original wooden structure aesthetically visible. The slender and subtly curved arms support the 6 opaline globe-shaped shades. More pronounced is the structure of the lamp pole, which consists of a succession of alternating geometric shapes that give a very specific rhythm to the supporting arm. Concave and convex shapes are combined throughout the piece and at the base of the whole. At the top, it has a kind of decorative steel hook in the form of a golden ring. This lamp is the final detail that will give a light, authentic touch to any place you place it.About strippingThis technique that leaves the material partially exposed is known as stripping, a type of decorative painting that involves similarly removing paint from a surface so that it appears to have been stripped or removed by the passage of time. When stripping a piece of furniture, a portion of the existing paint layer is removed with sandpaper, so that the previous layer or the wood itself can be seen. To achieve this stripping effect, the previous color must be revealed in the last layer of paint applied. Therefore, to achieve the antique effect of the object, two colors are needed: the base color and the finishing color. First of all, it is necessary to apply the layer of plastic paint on the wooden surface and let it dry. The next step, before applying the second coat, is a sanding (with coarse sandpaper) of the furniture, allowing the wood color to show through in places. Then a second fine sanding is necessary to smooth the surface of the object. Finally, a last coat of varnish must be applied, which also gives it a certain shine.Dimensions:- 160 x 70 cm.- Base diameter 27 cm.Shipping costs include professional custom packaging and personalized shipping with tracking number and guarantee.
