Beautiful, vintage XL brandy snifter (cognac glass) vase made of deep cobalt blue glass. This iconic design is a stunning example of Mid-Century Modern (MCM) Italian art glass from the renowned Empoli region (1960s/70s). The vase is entirely hand-blown, which is immediately recognizable by the authentic pontil mark (the rough glass core) on the underside of the base and a subtle air bubble in the glass. Unlike the often heavier variants, this model is elegantly and thinly blown with a sleek, smooth bowl and stem ('Plain Pedestal Balloon Vase'). The deep blue core transitioning to the clear stem creates a beautiful optical effect when light shines through it. An absolute eye-catcher in a vintage, Hollywood Regency, or modern interior!
