Splendid coffee table by French sculptor Daniel Chassin (1950 - ). Of great originality, the table consists of a true contemporary sculpture in gilded brass that forms its base or foot, supporting a tempered glass top with blunt corners. This sculptural group, formed by books placed in different positions and planes, surprises the viewer thanks to the colors and textures offered by the artist's various techniques. Chassin uses brass that he molds and welds, and also polishes, gilds, and patinates. The result is a light coffee table, further emphasized by the glass. Signed on the spine of a book, “D. Chassin 2003”. Being a sculpture, it can of course be decorated as such without the need for glass. Versatility and functionality.
Daniel Chassin (1950-) is a French sculptor who creates works in brass and bronze. Sometimes with simplified forms, sometimes with realistic forms, and sometimes with invented or abstract forms. His most frequently used repertoire includes the human figure and animals, often imbuing them with an aura of mystery. This artist always finds the balance between robustness and delicacy, where, according to him, "perfection resides".
