This set of two swivel armchairs was designed by Danish designer Verner Panton for Verpan. These pieces are part of the iconic System 1-2-3 series, a collection that illustrates Panton's experimental approach to form and function, originally developed in 1973. Each armchair features a sculptural S-shaped silhouette, designed to conform to the body's contours and provide ergonomic comfort. The structure is upholstered in Kvadrat's famous Hallingdal 65 fabric, a durable blend of wool and viscose, in a rich bordeaux red hue (color 0694). The armchairs rest on a flat circular base of brushed aluminum, which provides stability and a modern, clean aesthetic. These armchairs are in very good overall condition, with the original upholstery having retained its color and texture. The modular design of the System 1-2-3 was revolutionary for its time and remains a benchmark in the history of mid-century design. Manufacturer Verpan and designer labels are present under the base, confirming the authenticity of the pieces.
