Product description
Art Nouveau baluster vase in enameled earthenware, made by the Gustave De Bruyn factory in Fives-Lille. Its dynamic silhouette is enlivened by two sinuous handles and rich, relief-molded plant decoration. Long stems punctuate the olive green belly and meet rosebuds in pink and soft green hues, arranged around a polylobed neck. Cream and light green leaves, as well as volute motifs at the base, complete this naturalistic composition characteristic of Art Nouveau. The underside bears Gustave De Bruyn's embossed logo, formed by the GDB monogram and an anchor, as well as model number 4238. This French piece likely dates from around 1900-1910. Height: 25 cm Width: 15 cm Depth: 12 cm Good general antique condition. Fine enamel crazing and light traces of use. A chip with material loss is present under the edge of the foot, accompanied by small wear on the lower perimeter. A decorative vase with a strong floral design, ideal on a console, a sideboard or in an Art Nouveau ceramics collection.
