This is the iconic Mite Floor light, a distinctive design by Marc Sadler for the Italian brand Foscarini. The lamp is known for its slender, totem-like silhouette and innovative use of materials, which earned it the prestigious Compasso d'Oro design award in 2001.
The Mite is made from a composite of fiberglass and carbon fiber, a technique derived from the production of fishing rods. This ensures a lightweight yet very strong construction. The lamp diffuses a warm, diffused light along its entire length, with an additional light source in the base for a brighter upward accent. The color is a vibrant yellow, and the base and wall bracket are made of metal.
The lamp is in good, used condition and retains its original character. It is a timeless piece that functions as both a light source and a sculptural object.
