For the enthusiast of maritime history, antique design or unique interior pieces: A beautiful, 100% original travel souvenir set from the iconic Hamburg-America Line (HAPAG) from approximately 1938.This extremely charming set was sold on board the luxury cruise ships at the time and is in an exceptionally beautiful, collectible condition. The set consists of four perfectly matching components:1) Volkstedt Porcelain Cup & Saucer: Made by the renowned German quality manufacturer Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur. The refined white porcelain is decorated with an elegant gold rim and the official HAPAG coat of arms on the bottom of the cup. Completely intact, without chips or hairline cracks.2) 800 Silver & Enamel Souvenir Spoon: A beautifully detailed, partly gilded silver spoon. The end features a deep blue enamel shield with the shipping company's coat of arms. Marked with the silver hallmark '800' (2nd grade silver).3) Original Felt Miniature Sou'wester Hat: A beautiful small yellow felt hat, shaped like the iconic sou'wester storm hat of sailors. It is decorated with small blue and yellow flowers and serves as the original holder in which the silver spoon is pinned.4) Decorative Travel Box: The original round cardboard packaging, decorated all around with authentic travel stickers of the famous ships from that era, including the D. Reliance (Westindienfahrt), M.S. Milwaukee and the E/S Patria, introduced in 1938.In very good antique condition. The porcelain is scratch and damage-free. The box has slight, characteristic signs of age that contribute to its authentic appearance.
