This double-shade floor lamp was manufactured by Szarvasi, a Hungarian lighting producer known for its mushroom-shaped plastic shades and space-age silhouettes, dating from the 1960s. The lamp features two independently adjustable arms, each fitted with a glossy orange dome shade with a cream-colored interior, allowing the light to be angled up, down or rotated a full 360 degrees. Mounted on a slim chrome stem with a weighted brown lacquered base, it makes a versatile reading or accent light for a living room seating area or a reading corner. Condition and Character Original condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. One of the two shades shows melting damage caused by a previous owner's use of an incorrect, overly hot bulb, resulting in localized discoloring and deformation of the plastic near the socket opening. The other shade and the metal stem and base show light surface scratches and handling marks typical of a vintage piece of this age. Both shades continue to move freely up and down and rotate a full 360 degrees, and the lamp is in working order.
