Product description
Beautiful original set of four Scandinavian dining chairs from the 1960s. A beautiful quality vintage set with a distinct mid-century design. The chairs are entirely made of wood and have a particularly slender design. The warm wooden seats form a nice contrast with the black legs and high spindle back. The slightly curved top rail, tapered legs, and refined joints give the chairs an elegant and typical Scandinavian look. The design shows clear similarities with the work of Ilmari Tapiovaara and other Scandinavian designers from this period. However, these are not branded pieces, and therefore we do not attribute the chairs to a specific designer or manufacturer. They are clearly not modern reproductions: the construction, materials, and finish are consistent with vintage production from the 1960s. The chairs feel solid and high-quality, and despite their airy design, they are sturdily built. The set is in beautiful original vintage condition, with light signs of use consistent with an age of approximately sixty years. It is precisely the combination of the original finish and the warm patina that gives the chairs a lot of character.
