This dining table, Model 227, was designed in the 1960s by Arne Vodder for the renowned Danish furniture manufacturer Sibast Møbler. The design illustrates the refined woodworking and ingenious functionalism characteristic of the golden age of Danish design, making this model a sought-after item among collectors. The table is crafted from teak and features a warm, brown color with visible wood grain. The most striking feature is the exceptional extension system with four extension leaves. The table can be expanded from a compact width of 75 cm to an impressive length of 290 cm. Two rectangular extension leaves are placed in the center, while two rounded leaves are attached to the ends, changing the shape from rectangular to a soft oval. The rounded leaves are hinged and can be folded down or completely removed. The dimensions are 106 cm wide and 72 cm high. The piece of furniture is in good condition commensurate with its age and use. The construction is solid and the extension mechanism functions properly. Over the years, the teak wood has developed an authentic patina that contributes to the character of the table.
