Product description
This elegant table attributed to Milo Baughman, made in the 1970s, embodies the modernist and sophisticated aesthetic of the period through a highly pure polished chrome structure, supporting three circular smoked glass tops, two of which are swiveling, allowing the space to be modulated with remarkable ease. The silhouette, both airy and architectural, plays on the transparency of the tinted glass and the brilliance of the metal to create a refined visual presence, typical of American seventies glamour. Thanks to its fluid mechanism, the side tops open and unfold to offer a generous surface or close to return to a compact form, making this piece a perfect example of functional and sculptural design. The ensemble exudes an impression of discreet luxury and timeless modernity, capable of enhancing both a contemporary interior and a vintage decor.
Milo Baughman (1923–2003) is a major American modernist designer, famous for his furniture with clean lines, the use of chrome, glass, and noble materials. His partnership with Thayer Coggin, starting in the 1950s, gave birth to pieces that have become iconic in American design. His style, at once minimalist, elegant, and functional, remains highly sought after by collectors today.
