Product description
Small, stocky speckled stoneware vase, circa 1970-80s, adorned with the 470 ("four seven") painted on the belly, with the inscription "470". This double dinghy, designed in 1963 by the French architect André Cornu, takes its name from its length, 4.70 m. It has been an Olympic class since 1976. A unique workshop piece or produced in a very small series, probably made as a regatta prize or sailing club gift. For sailors, 470 owners, and vintage ceramic enthusiasts. Signature: incised monogram under the base, combining an "A" and a trident (unidentified potter, any leads are welcome). Material: speckled beige stoneware, hand-thrown, dense texture. Rim of the neck highlighted with brown enamel. Dimensions: height 11 cm, diameter 6 cm at the neck and 6.5 cm at the base. Weight: 330 g. Condition: very good condition, no chips or cracks. Small original irregularity on the rim of the neck (turning/firing mark), visible in the photos.
