This 1970s pendant lamp from the Dutch manufacturer Herda is a beautiful piece of design history. The characteristic, space-like shapes reference the fascination with space travel and technology that was so characteristic of the Space Age. The combination of brushed aluminum and a transparent amber plexiglass shade creates a warm, atmospheric light effect when lit.
The lamp has been carefully restored: traces of rust on the aluminum core have been removed, the shade has been polished to restore its original shine, and the electrical components have been replaced with a new porcelain socket and new cord.
Despite the careful restoration, some minor signs of wear are still visible (see photo), consistent with the lamp's age and authentic character.
A beautiful eye-catcher that combines retro charm with modern convenience — ideal above the dining table or in a seating area with character.
