Product description
This Space Age floor lamp from the 1960s/70s is attributed to designer Aldo van den Nieuwelaar. It is a striking example of the progressive design of that period. The design is characterized by a spherical shade resting in a minimalist, curved frame, resulting in a silhouette that is both playful and architectural.
The lamp is crafted with a white glass globe that provides a soft, diffuse light distribution. The frame is made of white lacquered metal, formed into a continuous tubular construction that supports the globe while simultaneously serving as a stable, round base. The white color scheme emphasizes the clean lines and geometric simplicity of the design.
The fixture is in a condition commensurate with its age and use, while retaining its original character and functionality. The original wiring and switch are present, contributing to the piece's authentic appearance.
This floor lamp comes into its own perfectly in a modern or retro-inspired interior. It is a functional lighting object that also serves as a sculptural element in a living room, study, or bedroom.
