Product description
This Space Age lounge chair embodies the distinctive aesthetic of the 1970s. The design features a striking contrast between its rigid, moulded base and the soft, inviting upholstery, making it a quintessential piece of the era. In the Style of Albert Jacob’s from Belgium.
The chair is constructed with a cream-coloured plastic shell base that supports a plush, tufted cushion. The upholstery is finished in a brown and black checkered textile, providing both visual texture and comfort. The low profile and deep seat are characteristic of the relaxed seating styles popularised during the Space Age design movement.
The piece remains in good vintage condition, retaining its original character and structural integrity. The plastic base shows a natural patina consistent with age, while the textile cushion maintains its form and pattern clarity.
This lounge chair serves as a strong focal point in a retro-inspired or eclectic interior. It pairs well with other mid-century or Space Age elements, adding a touch of historical design to a contemporary living space.
There are signs of age and use.
