Exceptional Space Age dining set designed by Maurice Burke for the celebrated British manufacturer Arkana.
This set features a beautiful tulip table alongside six matching swivel chairs. It has been cherished and exceptionally well taken care of by its original owner and their family for 53 years, having been purchased brand new in 1973. Complete with the original invoice from that purchase, this set comes with a rare level of documented history and authentic heritage.
The circular table top is crafted from a rich, dark oak wood, which rests on a sleek, aluminium tulip pedestal base. The six accompanying swivel chairs feature dramatic, molded black composite shells sitting on fluid, four-star aluminum swivel bases. Each chair is paired with its original, eye-catching bright orange seat cushions, creating a striking contrast against the dark wood and black shells.
As a testament to its genuine 53-year history of love and daily use, the set exhibits some minor, natural patina on the dark oak table top. The original bright orange cushions also show slight discoloration and small stains consistent with age, keeping their authentic vintage character completely intact.
