Product description
Large (75 cm high) solid bronze lamp with a nuanced brown patina. Its tripod base features scrolled and protruding feet, typical of late 19th-century neo-Gothic forms. The finely turned and balanced stem is reminiscent of antique church or chapel candlesticks. A decorative piece with a sculptural character, heavy and stable, it can accommodate a large cylindrical lampshade for a monumental effect, as shown. ________________________________________ TECHNICAL DETAILS: • Designer: Unattributed • Maker: European workshop, probably France or Belgium • Period: Late 19th century (circa 1880–1900) • Materials: Solid cast bronze • Finish: Natural brown patina, traces of green oxidation (verdigris), particularly on the feet ________________________________________ DIMENSIONS: • Height: 75 cm (29.5 in) • Width: 20 cm (7.9 in) • Depth: 20 cm (7.9 in) • Weight: 7.5 kg ________________________________________ CONDITION: Good overall condition, original patina with visible oxidation on some areas of the base.
