The 'Sinus' lounge chair and ottoman, designed by Reinhold Adolf and Hans-Jürgen Schröpfer for Cor in 1973, represents a definitive moment in German modernist seating. It is one of the most comfortable seats ever made. This is an original vintage production from the seventies, which remains highly sought after by collectors of mid-century European design. The upholstery is executed in black leather, supported by robust brown leather straps across the rear of the frame. The cantilevered base provides a subtle, responsive movement, a hallmark of the Sinus design. The piece originates from the 1970s production era. The chair and ottoman remain in good, fully functional condition, preserving the character and patina developed over decades of use. The leather retains its original finish, displaying the natural creasing and softening expected of a piece from this period, while the structural integrity of the steel frame and leather strapping remains sound. The base of the chair is executed in brushed steel, while the footstool is made with polished chrome. If you look closely, there is a slight difference in the optical effect. The leather of the seat has a small, professional restoration (see pictures).
