About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a set of four Tobias dining chairs, designed by Carl Öjerstam for IKEA. The chairs combine a chrome-plated steel frame with a transparent plastic seat, a characteristic example of modern Scandinavian design. The Tobias model is known for its airy aesthetic and functional design. The construction consists of a flexible, pre-formed seat made from a single piece of polycarbonate, mounted on a chrome-plated steel sled base. This choice of materials ensures a comfortable seating experience, as the seat flexes slightly with the user's movements. The transparent finish creates a sense of spaciousness and allows light to pass through, preventing the chairs from visually dominating an interior. The chairs are in good condition, with normal light signs of wear consistent with their age. The chairs are stable, and the connections between the seat and the frame are sturdy. Their original form and function have remained fully intact. This set is ideal for use at the dining table, but can also serve as extra seating in a living room or as a stylish chair in a home office. The transparent nature makes the chairs easy to combine with various types of tables and color palettes, from minimalist to eclectic.
