This set of six King Costes chairs is offered as a complete set, designed by the influential French designer Philippe Starck for the Italian manufacturer Driade, produced under the Aleph label.
It is an increasingly popular example of Italian design from the late twentieth century, perfectly suited for both modern and classic interiors.
King Costes was designed in the early 90s as a further development of Starck's famous Costes chair.
Characteristic features are the all-round curved wooden shell, the four slender metal/aluminum legs, and the upholstered leather seat.
As the marking indicates, these chairs are original and produced in Italy, see the Starck signature/marking under the seat in the 3rd photo.
Today, the King Costes is considered one of Philippe Starck's most celebrated furniture designs and is represented in museum collections worldwide.
The set is in good condition, consistent with its age and normal use.
