Product description
Iconic set of six 40/4 stacking chairs, designed by David Rowland for HOWE. One of the most recognizable examples of post-war modern chair design, the 40/4 is celebrated for its extremely slim profile, lightweight construction and ingenious stacking ability. The chairs feature beautifully curved black molded wood seats and backrests, combined with a minimalist chromed steel rod frame. Their sculptural lines and restrained use of materials give them a timeless architectural appearance, equally suited to a dining room, office or contemporary interior. Originally designed in 1964, the 40/4 became an internationally acclaimed design and is represented in major design collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This is a matching set of six, retaining the original HOWE labels.
