Timeless and iconic, the Panton Chair by Verner Panton for Vitra. This set consists of 2 vintage examples from the Herman Miller Collection of the 1970s. High-quality body in black. Made of rigid polyurethane foam. Unique and in original condition. No damage, but some scratches consistent with age. With brand plate on the underside and price for the set.
The history of the Panton Chair begins in the second half of the 1950s, when Danish designer Verner Panton developed the idea of a cantilevered plastic chair. However, manufacturers were unwilling to follow him in this bold concept. Willi Fehlbaum, the founder of Vitra, was interested in the idea but only gave his approval late, when his product managers visited Panton and returned full of enthusiasm.
