Rare 'Scimitar' chair, model IS-63, designed by Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm for Ivan Schlechter in 1962, Denmark. The armchair is a characteristic example of early Danish modernism and stands out for its sculptural design. The heavy, semi-circular steel base supports a beautifully shaped wooden shell seat, upholstered in beautiful cognac leather. An iconic design where industrial materials and minimalism beautifully combine with organic forms and comfort, resulting in a perfectly balanced whole that is characteristic of Fabricius and Kastholm's designs. A very interesting piece for design enthusiasts and collectors. Marked and in very good condition. Professionally re-upholstered with new foam and leather. L83xD68xH67cm
