Vintage Art-deco Lawrence 2.5 seater sofa, black leather 184x80xh 74cm. New price at the time € 10,230.00. The sofa is made of the wood type bubinga. The details are made of ebony or wenge wood and aluminum. This is a vintage example from the 90s which is still made in the Schuitema factory in Stadskanaal. Frits Schuitema is the designer of this exclusive Art Deco-Jugendstil furniture. Schuitema furniture derives inspiration from the design classics of greats such as Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright. Since the Schuitema Furniture furniture factory ceased operations in 2013, the Lawrence sofa can now also be said to be a design classic. The furniture fleece on the bottom of the sofa has been replaced as well as the fleece on which the cushions lie. (See photo 3) Since this is an older example, the leather patina of this sofa is really beautiful (so much nicer than the newer versions). Also the wood has a nice "lived-in character". All in all a beauty that fits into any interior.
The wood has some scratches and wear spots but this is only more beautiful in this case. The leather also has nice creases but is in excellent condition.
