This two-person sofa was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1948. The Womb Chair is considered one of the icons of post-war American modernism. Designed by Eero Saarinen in 1946 and produced by Knoll International since 1948 (originally as Model No. 70).
Saarinen developed the Womb Chair in close collaboration with a boat builder. It was his express intention to design a chair that would allow for various seating positions and create a special sense of relaxation and coziness. This central design concept is vividly expressed in its name. Also known as the loveseat. Dimensions: 159cm W x 94cm D x 92cm H
Seat height 43.5cm.
