A beautiful kitchen object, reminiscent of those cherished in the 1970s, when stoneware, wood, and natural materials found a prominent place in home interiors. This generously sized pickle jar is crafted from enameled stoneware, in a beautiful grey-beige hue nuanced with brown and dotted with natural speckles. The material feels warm, imbued with that distinctive presence characteristic of ceramics from that era. On the front, the inscription "Cornichons" (Pickles) appears in relief, accompanied by the word "Paysans" (Farmers) rendered in a flowing, decorative script. Most importantly, the entire piece has retained what gives it its full charm today. Its thick, deliberately rustic natural cork stopper almost forms a small crown at the top of the jar. It comes with its wooden pickle tongs, which slots neatly at the side. The combination of stoneware, cork, and wood gives it that rustic aesthetic so characteristic of the 1970s. With its pleasing proportions – approximately 16 cm high for the jar itself, nearly 19 cm with its stopper, and 12 cm in diameter – it makes a real statement on a shelf, sideboard, or countertop. It can naturally be restored to its original function, but it will just as easily find its place in a contemporary kitchen, where its character will add a particularly warm vintage touch. The piece shows signs of age, visible in the photographs, including a small internal chip at the neck, which in no way detracts from its charm or decorative appeal.
