This charming vintage vase dates from the West German era of the 1960s or 70s and captivates with its striking combination of brown-black glaze with a vibrant red lava glaze element on its mid-section. The distinctive glazing technique makes each piece unique – a must-have for collectors and lovers of unusual Mid-Century ceramics. In 1905, Ruscha Keramik was initially founded under the name Klein & Schardt by Georg Schardt in Rheinbach. With the takeover by his son Rudolf Schardt in 1948, the company was renamed Ruscha and produced until 1996. Ruscha was one of the leading factories in the ceramic era and produced masterpieces that are still highly sought after today. The model number 851-20 is impressed on the base and indicates a height of approx. 20 cm. Ideal as a small decorative vase on sideboards, shelves or in combination with other West German vases.
