Clear in form, functional in expression, and designed with timeless restraint – this round table, designed by Gerd Lange for Thonet, exemplifies the objective design philosophy of late modernism. The generous 128 cm diameter tabletop with its Resopal coating offers ample space and, thanks to its light surface combined with the black edge, appears particularly elegant and balanced. The tabletop is supported by a central column base made of black coated metal, which transitions into a striking disc base. The textured surface of the base is especially characteristic: fine, knob-like ridges not only lend the table a graphic depth but also offer a surprising tactile detail – almost like a subtle foot massage upon touch. A functional yet playful element that subtly enhances the design.
